This unique reform by Estudio Stándard Amsterdam if of an apartment in an old school which was constructed in Amsterdam over 100 years ago and has been ingeniously converted it into a modern apartments. 10 apartments for 10 young families each one with its own individual plan. The owner of one of the families asked Standard Studio to design his property for him. It was for a family of four so they converted the old teachers meeting room into a bedrooms and the classrooms became the living room. With its high ceilings it was possible to convert it into a duplex this was an extra as it meant that the family were together but at the same time maintaining some privacy. It also meant that they could divide this area into five environments kitchen, living room, and dining room a play area leaving space for a work desk. Under the stairs they prepared an area for the children to have their toys and toy boxes and to play. Finished with cement floors and stainless steel stairs combined with wood has given this apartment a modern and luminous outlook. Photography © Standard Studio.
