Situated on the Bloemgracht Amsterdam, a monument on the unesco protected canals and once an old sugar refinery is where you can find this beautiful contemporary loft which is the work of architects Wouter Slot & Jurjen van Hulzen of Standard Studio. Its original state was a mass of tiny rooms with low ceilings and plasterboard with no style. So the new owner a young broker, saw the real potential behind the façade and left everything from restyling to interior decoration to standard studio. As you can see they exceled. They converted this space into an open plan loft without losing its traditional essence. Old wooden beams combined with modern unfinished hot rolled steel, oiled oak multifunctional units, and a freestanding bath, spa and sauna, not forgetting the walk –in closet bringing a touch of luxury. The living room, and on a split level the bar and dining area. The Selected pieces of vintage furniture and bespoke items complete the look and as they themselves describe it. A match in heaven.
